Drive up through tea country from Bagdogra airport to Darjeeling.
Pre-dawn drive to Tiger Hill for sunrise on Kangchenjunga, then Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and a toy train joy ride.
Morning tea tasting at a Darjeeling estate, then drive along the Teesta river to Gangtok.
Day trip to the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (permits arranged).
